REBLOG TO SPREAD AWARENESS OF ANIMAL TESTING!!!! This is my rabbit Ella, I rescued her from the local MSPCA having never held or pet one before. She is the sweetest animal ever and I take her into church to play with the little kids there and they absolutely love her. She has scars on her back from corrosive acids, and scars on her feet from being trapped in a wire bottom cage while she was the victim of horrible animal testing. Many people aren’t aware of how rabbits are used for horrible animal tests. These include an eye irritancy test where cosmetics and cleaners are dripped directly into the rabbits eye, another is where they shave the rabbits back and put corrosive acid and poisons onto their skin. The rabbits are given no pain relief and are killed once their injuries are recorded. During the time they are put in mini cages where they are not allowed to move and their heads are kept still by restraints, never getting to hop and boink like a rabbit should Why use rabbits for these tests? Well, according to lab workers they are docile and easy to work with. These rabbits need someone to speak up for them.

Also, the reason rabbits are tested on most frequently is because they don’t naturally flush toxins out of their eyes.
