Members of the Hoya genus (also known as waxflowers) are commonly epiphytic on trees in tropical regions in mid to southwestern Asia. They are often pollinated by moths due to some variations lacking color and possessing a strong sweet fragrance. Hoya may also be pollinated by ants or flies; multiple pollinators interact with this genus due to the substantial quantity of nectar each flower tends to produce.
