    It’s almost like teachers barely make a living wage and actual minimum wage workers don’t make a living wage at all.

    Keep in mind that raising minimum wage will ultimately force your employer to pay you more competitively–whether or not you are a minimum wage worker.

    This is why conservatives are so scared of minimum wage workers making a living wage (which, to be clear, $15/hour is not)–it would force all employers to start paying employees a more reasonable fraction of their value. Trickle-down economics is a sick joke, but trickle-up economics is real.

    Raise the standard for the lowest paid workers, and THE STANDARD GETS RAISED FOR EVERYONE.

    Whether you make $30k or $100k a year, you are making pennies on the dollar of what you are actually earning your employer. Never forget that.
