This occurred in 2017, in Southaven Mississippi. The man was Ismael Lopez and he was shot through the door, dying of a single bullet to the back of his head. Officers tried to say he had a gun he wouldn’t drop but neighbors say they heard no commands for a gun to be dropped and his wife says he was not armed though there was a gun on the premise.

The Grand Jury denied to indict in 2018.

In 2019 the attorney for the city (during a wrongful-death suit) stated that he had no 4th or 14th amendment protections because he wasn’t a citizen. This suit is still ongoing.
